25th April 2004 - Release of AD 2004, v1.06 (Build 2)

Build 2 corrects the formatting of the desktop clock and the button in the Help tab to state Quit AD 2004 instead of Quit AD 2003. Finally, the default date for the Calendar Statistics has been changed to a more recent date.

16th March 2004 - Release of AD 2004, v1.06

Holding down the [ Shift ] whilst previewing the Planner or Diary reports causes the shading to be removed from the weekends. Also, holding down the [ Shift ] when previewing the One Month + Astronomy report causes the coloured text in the report to match the colour picker in the Reports tab.

Bug removed from the Events and Reports tabs where changing the calendar year when the February calendar is displayed during a Leap Year could cause the program to crash. Bug removed where times of astronomical events did not correctly adjust for Daylight Saving Time including the One Month + Astronomy report. Finally, the Manual Daylight Saving Time mode is now obsolete and when chosen matches the Automatic mode.

14th February 2004 - Release of AD 2004, v1.05

A new feature has been added where if your display resolution is 1024 pixels or more wide, when viewing a clock comparison the clocks will appear to the right hand side of the main Anno Domini window rather than on top. The Cuckoo sound file has been replaced for clarity and data files are now correctly located at all times.

Modifications have been made to the Plus! Pack including a bug being removed where the weekday headings in the 24 Month Calendar and 36 Month Calendar reports would be out of alignment if Sunday was selected as the starting day of the week and the 24 Month Calendar report could previously not be saved as the default report. The width of the desktop clock has also been increased for the Date/Time and Small options.

 23rd January 2004 - Release of AD 2004, v1.04

Bug removed where diary entries viewed in January of the Weekly Diary view would not be shown if they fell in December of the previous year. Bug also removed where entries for the first week of January 2004 could be lost. Diary entries are also no longer permitted outside of the year range 2000 - 2009. A bug has been removed from the 3 Month Calendar reports where the mini calendars could sometimes show the wrong month heading. The Diagnostics function has been overhauled and is now available from the installer. Finally, a noticeable flicker has been removed from the Astronomy tab and a photographic sound is now played when the Save Desktop function is used.

1st January 2004 - Worldwide Release of Anno Domini 2004

Anno Domini 2004 is now available for download in either evaluation or upgrade form. Please view the Overview and New Features pages for full details and specifications and also view the Plus! Pack page for details of how Anno Domini can be further enhanced.

31st December 2003 - Release of AD 2004, v1.03 Build 2

The Save/Restore Desktop function of the Plus! pack has been limited to Windows 2000 and XP users and users of Windows 95 now must install a 95 specific version of AD 2004 which is available on the web-site at http://www.anno-domini.net/95.htm.

28th December 2003 - Release of AD 2004, v1.03

During installation, all program menu entries and desktop icons are now available to all users of the PC rather than just the user who installed the software. A number of issues have been addressed including the Desktop Clock which is now cleared when the screen saver is active. The Readme icon is now only shown on the desktop during the first installation. The Daylight Saving Time rule for Townsville, Australia has been corrected. The home location is now shown in silver in the Sundial tab and the Microsoft Paint program now correctly views the last snapshot taken.

21st December 2003 - Release of AD 2004, v1.02

Bug fixed enabling AD Lite users to run AD 2004. Proxy Internet connections are now supported during the registration procedure.  The Restart and Turn Off Computer functions have been re-activated. User Sounds for the Chimes and Alarms have been re-activated. Alarm numbers 3 and 4 now function correctly. When changing background images, the file dialog defaults to the Backgrounds folder of the Anno Domini directory. Likewise, when adding User Sounds, the file dialog defaults to the Sounds folder of the Anno Domini directory. The installer now correctly places the AD2004.EXE file in the start up folder. Finally, the Diagnostics function now details installed programs and proxy Internet settings.

16th December 2003 - Release of AD 2004, v1.01

New photographic sound played whenever a snapshot is taken and the Diagnostics function has been radically overhauled to provide comprehensive details of the Anno Domini installation. Bug fixes include removal of third-party module which caused Anno Domini 2004 to crash on installation and the Microsoft Paint program now correctly loads up your snapshot.

10th December 2003 - Release of Anno Domini 2004, v1.00

All new version of Anno Domini with 15 new features for existing users and 15 new features available in an optional add-on called the Plus! pack.

1st December 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.15

Final release of Anno Domini 2003 in readiness for Anno Domini 2004. The preview calendar in the Preferences tab now shows the calendar for the current date. Bug removed from the 3 Month calendar reports where the smaller calendars could show incorrect dates if the Mini-Calendar setting was changed from Next Two Months to Previous Month and finally, the ADCLOCK.INI file is now restored when the Restore Settings function is used.

13th November 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.14

The Diagnostics function now includes all the data files used by Anno Domini. Access to calendars after the current month has been removed from Anno Domini Free mode. Access to the Daily Diary has been re-enabled for Anno Domini Lite users and details of the last backup has now been re-enabled in the Help tab.

11th November 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.13 (Builds 1-3)

New features include a lined paper effect to the daily Diary view and a month selector for the Mini-View calendar. The Registration dialog now automatically appears when you connect to the Internet to start the registration process. Bug fixes include correction of the angle of tilt of the Moon for southern hemisphere locations and corrections made to locations used from the database which do not observe Daylight Saving Time. Build 2 ensures that diary entries in the Daily Diary view are recorded correctly. In Build 3 bug has been removed which caused the data files to be corrupted when Anno Domini Lite users entered their registration details. Also ensure now that the Mini-View tab appears for Anno Domini Lite users. You can now view calendars outside of the range 2000-2009 when in the Diary view. Finally, in the reports tab you can now enter the year for the report without using the mouse.

26th October 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.13

11th September 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.12 (Build 4)

The Registration process has been overhauled to ensure that registration of Anno Domini can only take place if there is a valid Internet connection. The current month and date is now shown in the Desktop Clock and a new Tiny display option has been added showing the full current date along with the current time. When taking Snapshots, you now have the option to view the image immediately. A bug has been removed from the Sundial where on occasions the last line of longitude would not be shown correctly. Bug also removed from the Reports tab allowing the Monthly Diary option to be automatically selected on startup. Disabling Real-Time Astronomy in the Preferences tab now ensures that the Sun and Moon distances are only updated on the minute. The position of San Salvador has been corrected and Rio de Janeiro has been added to the location database. The look of the Event Editor has been enhanced and finally, Build 4 corrects issues concerning Broadband/LAN access.

 1st July 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.11

During installation, users now have the option of installing Anno Domini without first rebooting their PC system. The mini-calendars and the sun/moon tracking functions have been removed from the calendar tab for AD Free users and have been replaced by the the daily diary view. The highlighting of each chosen location in the Location tab has also been removed for AD Free users. The daily diary entry/view is now available to AD Free and AD Lite users. A new Finance button has been added to the On This Day tab and the Internet content now adapts depending on whether you home location is in the USA or not. On removal of Anno Domini, the entry in the Windows Add/Remove dialog is deleted along with the Internet shortcuts. Finally, the time zone for Nairobi, Africa has been corrected to +3.0 hours ahead of GMT.

5th May 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.10

Bug removed where performing an update would sometimes cause Anno Domini to lose track of your home location. Bug removed in the Moon Phases tab where selecting a yearly Full Moon list would sometimes not clear previous non Full Moon events. The program will no longer terminate immediately if the OTHISDAY.TXT data file is not found. The height of the clock display has been adjusted for Windows 98. The display of the weekdays in the Planner and Diary reports has been adjusted and FreeCell access in the menu has been disabled for screen resolutions less than 600 pixels high. The installer now displays an animation prior to reboot and updates of Anno Domini 2002 are no longer permitted from v1.10 to allow for more data space for future updates to Anno Domini 2003.

10th April 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.09

New Prevent Screen Saver function added to the menu. In the Diary and Planner reports, Saturdays and Sundays are now shown in differing colours. Finally, bug fixed affecting Daylight Saving Time where the indicator could appear incorrectly in the calendar.

26th March 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.08 (Build 3)

Registered users can now access a second set of images from nature when an Update is performed. For Windows 2000 and XP users, a new popup bubble appears in the Windows Taskbar notifying you when a new update or newsletter is available for downloading via the Internet. The Astronomy tab has been modified with the addition of real-time updates of the distance of the Sun and the Moon to the Earth and when the Sun and the Moon are next closest and furthest away from the Earth. Also, the Age of the Moon is shown in real-time. Distances can now be shown in Astronomical Units (AU) and a Run Program feature has been added to the menu. Checksums are now shown when entering your registration details to pinpoint typing errors. The size/appearance of the Calendar tab has been altered after a cold boot on startup. Build 2 fixes striped Sundial bug and reduces distributable file size. Build 3 fixes Daylight Saving Time bug affecting statistics and reports and access to the Microsoft Disk Cleanup function has been added.

23rd January 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.07

The AD 2003 Internet links are no longer installed automatically but can now be added at any time via the Create Shorcuts/URLs menu option. There is a new look to the installation dialog which now tells you which version of Anno Domini you have currently installed. Further logging information is stored during the Update process and the Moon image view has been tidied up. Build 2 fixes bugs in the Anno Domini News feature and ensures that the Update process only proceeds if the Anno Domini path is valid.

 5th January 2003 - Release of AD 2003, v1.06

An installation log has been added when a full install or update is performed to trace the installation procedure. This is accessed by clicking the AD icon from the installer. Mach (Velocity) and Stones (Weight) have been added to the Conversion tab. You can now export your Contacts to an ASCII file via the disk button added to the Contacts tab. The appearance of the Sundial has been altered when in enlarged mode and all web-sites used in the program can now be updated via the AD news web server. Bug in the Diary removed where adding entries in the last week of December of a given year could cause the entry to be lost or garbled data to be displayed. Bug also removed where changing screen resolution or colour depth which could cause buttons to lose their icons. Bug removed where a shortcut named news would sometimes incorrectly appear on your desktop. Also, some of the reports have been modified to fit the printed page better depending on whether the 300 or 360 dpi setting has been chosen. Click here for full details.

15th December 2002 - Release of AD 2003, v1.05

The actual time difference between locations is now displayed in the Location, Sundial and Clocks tabs. On selecting a date from the calendar, the times of twilight are now displayed. In the Astronomy tab you can now list all of the Full Moons in the selected year. The Sundial now has a much smoother appearance. The Planner report now allows you to select how many months are shown in the report. Users are now prompted every three weeks to backup their data and the image of nature for November has been changed. When performing an update, the main program file is now backed up allowing you to revert back to an older version. Buttons have been added to the Astronomy tab giving access to a planetarium and to the NASA news server. In the Location tab a Find Location button has been added to allow you to find the latitude and longitude of a location not found in the Anno Domini database and finally all reports have been adjusted in size to fully enable printing on US sized paper.

10th December 2002 - UK Sterling and Euro Payments Now Accepted!

Online registration of Anno Domini has now been made even easier for users in the UK and Europe. Payment can now be made in UK Sterling or Euros as well as US dollars.

12th November 2002 - Release of AD 2003, v1.04 (Build 2)

The evaluation period of Anno Domini has changed. For the first 21 days of the evaluation, all functions are available whilst the user is in Anno Domini Standard mode. On the 22nd day, the program reverts to Anno Domini Lite where the Sundial, Conversions, Quotation Editor, Diary and Contacts features are removed and the reports are reduced to four. When the 28 day evaluation period expires, the program reverts to Anno Domini Free where access to the On This Day, Astronomy, World Times, Clocks, Events and Event Viewer is removed and the reports are reduced to one. The registration process now requests a user name, product code and serial number. Sundial calculations are now 40% faster. An online currency converter and body mass calculator have been added and finally, bugs have been removed from the 3 Month reports, the month picker, the disable Sundial function and Fahrenheit to Kelvin calculations. Build 2 removes bugs affecting new users evaluating the Standard version and the storing of locations.

28th September 2002 - Release of AD 2003, v1.03 (Build 2)

Minor release to fix display problems with the Sundial and to correctly display the calendar month heading for the Diary report. Finally, extra Internet links have been added to the AD 2003 URLs which now number 200;

18th September 2002 - Release of AD 2003, v1.03

The dates shown in the Moon Phases tab can now be selected with the mouse to open the Calendar tab at that chosen date. An indication of whether the sun and moon is rising or setting has been added to the Calendar tab. You can now cut and paste the name and address of your currently highlighted contact into your favourite word processor in the Contacts tab. An Email Support function has been added for registered users in the Help tab as well as the ability to quickly clear the fields in the Conversions tab. Access to the Add/Remove Program, Internet Settings and Volume Control applets have been added to the menu and you can now choose the colour of the text in the Planner Report. Compatibility issues with language settings, Windows 95, the Sundial and the appearance of Anno Domini have been made. Finally, extra locations for the Middle East have been added to the location database.

27th July 2002 - Release of AD 2003, v1.02

New facilities have been added to the Alarm function. You can now have an alarm go off each day at the same time without further intervention and also Snooze the alarm for a period of either 5 or 10 minutes. New Full Screen Internet Explorer function in the Preferences tab allows the Internet Explorer window to open to its maximum size when an appropriate Internet enabled Anno Domini button is clicked. Bugs have been removed concerning the display of the 3 Month Calendar and Weekly Diary reports. Finally, 20 new web-sites have been added to the AD 2003 URLs making 150 in total.

 

3rd July 2002 - Anno Domini 2003 Announcement

The next generation of Anno Domini, namely Anno Domini 2003 is due for general release on the 1st August 2002. The program has undergone many alterations and resulted in over 100 new features being added to the program. In anticipation of the programs release to the general public, if you have not already registered your evaluation copy of Anno Domini 2002, do so in the month of July and you will receive a complimentary copy of Anno Domini 2003 when it is released in August. You will also avoid paying the higher registration fee as from the 1st August 2002, registration of Anno Domini 2003 will rise to £20.00 sterling ($30.00 US dollars).
